National Center For Missing and Exploited Children "Team Hope" honors Don Wiswell as volunteer of the week

Featured Volunteer of the Week

Don Wiswell

Families of Hope Team

By: Susan Morrow, Team Coordinator

With immense gratitude, I am honored to present Don Wiswell, a member of the Families of HOPE team since August 2009. Don is an extraordinary “gem” in all aspects. In particular, his intuitive wisdom and true, heartfelt compassion underlie his support with parents who experience international and domestic child abductions.

On the “lighter” side, Don possesses a wonderful sense of humor. He lives in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, or "LSD" (Lower, Slower Delaware, as the town and all of Sussex County are known.) Don states that the area enjoys the “laid-back label and welcomes open-minded spirits of all genres.” He loves living at the beach and told me that all Team HOPERS are always welcome to visit!

Don has an incredible family that includes his lovely wife, Susan, and five children, ages 36, 18, 15, 14, and 11. Along with being a member of AE, and a “taxi” for their younger children, he and Susan enjoy the children’s achievements as gifted pianists. His younger sons are both All State band and Jazz band members.

Along with feeling “spectacularly blessed” with Susan and their children, Don is “so grateful to be a small part of (Team HOPE), a wonderful organization that does so much good in a difficult world.” WE are ever so fortunate to have Don as a volunteer!

The Washington County Playhouse is offering a retrospective on the past many years of providing entertainment to our lovely Tri-State area. A worthy gesture and deserving of praise.

While no stage or page can possibly pay full tribute to the many folks who have made their mark and offered their talents to deserving and grateful area audiences, please allow me to add my humble gratitude and respectful remembrance to those named and unnamed for their contributions, services and talents through the years. Along with those fine performers listed in the current Playhouse program, and with no disrespect intended to changed names or unfinished lives, please join me in also thanking Jessica Dickey; Dawn Younker; Carey Urban, Flo Musser, Chas Rittenhouse; Sherry Wyne; Karen and Bill Stitely, the late, great Tod Lofquist; Maria Malkiewicz; Jim Banzhoff; Zane Oberholzer, Chris Musser; Al Gardner; Joe Banzhoff; Blake Brown; Vanessa McCambridge; Alfredo Jiminez; Terry and Tracey Moore, Eric Hurd; Susan Strider; Cecilia Parker; Charlotte White, Dan Henderson; Gerry McCarney; Penne Vickers; Shawn Martin; Ray Henderson; Katzi Carver; Jim Middleton; Renee and Bruce Levin, Allison Banzhoff, Kim Tantillo; Kelly Jenkins; Earl Moreland; Jeff and Loretta Czerbinski,  Chris Musser, Niki Perini; Bob Hagerman, and, of course, my beloved Susan Young Wiswell. There are so many to thank. For those that I have omitted or lost in my imperfect memory, I wish you all the best. To the patrons that made it all possible, I am forever beholden.
