Princeton University Graduate SchoolPrinceton University Graduate School We are thrilled to report that graduate student Hannah Wiswell has been named a co-winner of the Regional Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, earning one of two top prizes. After winning the Princeton University inaugural 3MT last month, Hannah impressed judges once again today with her presentation, "Avian-Inspired Engineering: Learning from Birds to Design Safer Aircraft for Humans." A Ph.D. student in Princeton MAE, Hannah was one of two top-prize recipients selected from a group of 15 finalists. Those finalists had been chosen from a field of 46 institutional winners across the U.S. and Canada to advance to today's online regional round. The competition was sponsored by the Northeastern American Association of Graduate Schools (NAGS) and hosted by Concordia University. With this result, Hannah is now eligible to compete in the Council of Graduate Schools national 3MT competition. The Graduate School introduced 3MT to Princeton as part of this year's 125th Anniversary celebration. Congratulations, Hannah, and thank you for representing Princeton graduate students so well! Letter to the Herald Mail: Don Wiswell Apr 4, 2012, 6:15 AM to opinion@herald-mail.com, news@herald-mail.com The Playhouse is offering a retrospective on the past many years of providing entertainment to our lovely Tri-State region. A worthy gesture, and deserving of praise. While no stage or page can possibly pay full tribute to the many folks who have made their mark and offered their talents to deserving and grateful area audiences, please allow me to add my humble gratitude and respectful remembrance to those named and unnamed for their contributions, services, and talents through the years. Along with those fine performers listed in the current Playhouse program, and with no disrespect intended to changed names or unfinished lives, please join me in also thanking Jessie Dickey, Dawn Younker, Chas Rittenhouse, Sherry Wyne, the late, great Tod Lofquist, the late Maria Malkiewicz, Jim Banzhoff, Chris Musser, Al Gardner, Joe Banzhoff, Blake Brown, Vanessa McCambridge, Alfredo Jiminez, Eric Hurd, Charlotte White, Dan Henderson, Gerry McCarney, Penne Vickers, Flo Musser, Shawn Martin, Ray Henderson, Katzi Carver, Jim Middleton, Kim Tantillo, Kelly Jenkins, Earl Moreland, Niki Perini, Bob Hagerman, ...and, of course, my beloved, Susan Young Wiswell. There are so many to thank. For those that I have omitted or lost in my imperfect memory, I wish you all the best. To the patrons that made it all possible, I am forever beholden. Don Wiswell (former owner, Washington Co. Playhouse, Keynote Dinner Theater) -- I am also enormously grateful to Ed Scott, Tom and Susan Chase (and wonderful Lauren!), the patrons, and other Keynote benefactors and friends
